FAQs

Q: How much does it cost?
A: If you are a consumer, registration is free. If you are a venue, promoter or event organiser, LST only charges a fee on the tickets it sells: no sale = no fee.
Q: What’s the catch?
A: There isn’t one. If you’re lucky enough to receive a message from LST, then you’re one of the lucky few who can take advantage of our great offers. For event organisers, you’ll be able to fill seats that otherwise would be empty and take advantage of the extra revenues, not just from ticket sales, but also from food and beverage, concessions and merchandise sales.
Q: I love the idea. If I register to receive offers, does this mean I never have to pay full price for a ticket again?
A: We’re afraid not. The way LST works means that registered users are only contacted with offers very occasionally. If your favourite band are coming to town, we recommend you buy tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. However the offers we do contact you with will be fantastic!
Q: How can LST prevent discounted tickets being offered to people who have bought them at full price?
A: If you provide us with a list of customers who have paid face value, our proprietary Tribes software can cross reference our databases with the names of the people we plan to message and de-dupe, thereby ensuring that those individuals will not be sent an offer.
Q: The concept sounds great, but does it not undermine the full price ticketing strategy?
A: Absolutely not. LST only delivers promotional messages to ‘closed-user groups’ via personalised 1-2-1 communication. Typically, if there are 100 unsold tickets for an event, LST will send a few hundred messages to registered users and, with our databases covering more than 30 million people, nobody is ever guaranteed to receive a specific promotional message.
Q: What if I want LST to sell my tickets from the moment they go on general sale?
A: LST can absolutely do that. We have multiple levels of security for producers on our website, so you can make your tickets as hidden or available to the general public as you choose. Hide them behind a one time URL, hide them behind password entry, or put them in the ‘shop window’ for all to see – you are in control, but we do all the work for you!
Q: How do buyers receive tickets and what security measures are in place?
A: Working with venue box offices, LST sends Collect from Box Office (COBO) lists detailing individual bookings. A unique booking reference is sent by email and SMS for ease of tracking sales. Most box offices insist on verifying credit card details and confirming the purchaser’s address. However, for added security, the box office can also verify the correct ticket buyer by calling their mobile number.
Q: I want to use my own data file within Tribes, what data protection do you have in place?
A: LST is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (formerly The Data Protection Agency) and fully complies with the Data Protection Act 1998 and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003. Tribes runs full datalogging that can be audited to determine any user-related activity. LST also recommends that clients seed their database files with email addresses and mobile numbers as an additional security measure. Alternatively, large database partners can choose to share data through a secure third party data warehouse, thus Tribes only has to see the meta-data with no contact information available.
